Our Take on Jewellery Trends in 2025
Share
Whilst it is super interesting to stay abreast of trends, Lulu and Boo jewellery designs will always be rooted in the elegant and beautifully classic. Many of the aspects of design I love and express in my collections can be found in what is ‘trending’ but ultimately are classic enough to serve you always. I want you to put your Lulu and Boo Jewellery on and never take it off! So let's have a look at the jewellery trends in 2025 and see where my designs fit in!
Sustainability Takes Centre Stage
Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword—it’s a central ethos driving the jewellery industry. By 2025, more consumers will demand that their jewellery not only reflects their personal style but also their values. Ethical sourcing, recycled materials, and eco-friendly production processes are increasingly becoming the standard.
Brands are expected to embrace a more transparent approach, offering traceable gemstones and metals, and incorporating more innovative sustainable materials like lab-grown diamonds, recycled gold, and even bioengineered gemstones. The rise of circular fashion (where pieces are designed with longevity and reusability in mind) will also make jewellery more durable, reducing the environmental impact of fast fashion. Lulu and Boo is fundamentally rooted in these sustainable jewellery principles and has been from the very beginning and I am delighted that the industry as a whole is coming into line and consciously producing their designs to minimise their impact on our world.
The Return of Pearls
One of the most exciting and elegant trends to watch in 2025 is the exciting resurgence of pearls. Once considered a staple of more traditional, formal styles, pearls are making a huge comeback—reimagined and modernised for the new age. Lulu and Boo is not shying away from this one. Already on my bench are pieces which aim to add a fresh twist to some of my classic designs. I am super excited to introduce some pearls into the Lulu and Boo collection. They are going to work so beautifully with some of my existing pieces and create classic and timeless designs which I hope you will find irresistible wardrobe staples. Bold Designs
Gone are the days of subtle and delicate pieces. In 2025, jewellery is expected to make a statement. Large, bold designs will be everywhere. Think chunky statement necklaces, and rings that resemble works of art. Think one and done. Invest in a statement piece that will see you through, not just 2025 but be your forever go to necklace. My chunky sterling silver choker (also available as a chunky choker with gold) is a go to piece that will last you forever and can be effortlessly dressed up or down. It looks as good with jeans and a white shirt as it does with a cocktail dress. It really is as versatile as it is stunning.
It's All About Stacking!
In 2025, expect to see a fascinating blend of minimalism and maximalism in the jewellery world. While the minimalist trend, with its clean lines and understated elegance, will still have its place, the countertrend of maximalism will shine as well. Think delicate, thin chains stacked with larger, bolder pieces—layers of rings, bangles, and earrings combining, and at Lulu and Boo we are here for it. I love designing pieces which can be mixed and matched and my own collection reflects this with an ecclectic mix of silver and gold, varying textures and a mix of halos and hearts.
The key to pulling off this hybrid style will be in the balance. Choosing to mix metals and weights of pieces to create interest and stand apart styling. Create a distinctive, yet harmonious look that allowing you to express your personality through carefully curated combinations.
Don’t be shy. More can be more. Remember to mix your metals. Sterling silver jewellery and 9ct gold jewellery together are a stunning combination creating interest and sophistication.
Colourful Gemstones and Iridescent Accents
2025 will be a year for vibrant, eye-catching colours in jewellery. While diamonds and traditional gemstones will never go out of style, designers are increasingly turning to a wider spectrum of stones.
Expect to see jewellery adorned with multi-coloured gemstones, from neon hues to deep, earthy tones. This trend reflects the growing desire for individuality and personal expression—people will no longer settle for conventional, neutral-toned jewels but will opt for pieces that are bold, bright, and full of personality.
Watch this space. I have already hinted on socials that I am about to throw some sparklers in so bear with…. It’s going to get twinkly round here. I am working closely with a UK gem supplier who only works with artisan miners who are paid equitably for what they find, not for how many hours they work! I will only ever use sustainably sourced gemstones. I am hoping I might even be able to visit the mine in Sri Lanka to give you some first-hand footage on the sourcing of your beautiful gems. Think exquisite multi-coloured sapphires, pinks, greens, yellows and of course blues as well as some ethically sourced diamonds.
Up-cycled and Repurposed Pieces
You know this is already a passion of mine. Lulu and Boo X Vintage has been a huge success and although currently sold out, I am working hard behind the scenes to source more vintage chains for you and work my designs into them to breathe new life into them and create irresistible pieces for you.
In line with the sustainability movement, up-cycling will become a significant trend in 2025. Consumers will gravitate towards jewellery made from repurposed vintage pieces, antique gemstones, or even materials that have been salvaged from old items. The charm of owning a piece of history, while contributing to a circular economy is increasingly resonating with eco-conscious buyers. Not only does this appeal to sustainability-minded consumers, but it also adds a unique story to each piece.
As I work on pieces, I always love to think I wonder what life the Victorian chain lived, for example. Did it secure a beloved gifted pocket watch? Did it hold a set of very important keys? Or was it an elegant piece used to hold an aristocratic lady's hand warmer? It's amazing to let your mind run away with the possibilities and so special to bring these pieces back to life and get them worn, loved and admired.
I think it is super interesting to watch the trends, but your Lulu and Boo jewellery will continue to offer distinctive designs irrespective of the "next big thing". Creating pieces which feel luxurious and truly special for all time, not just for 2025 is my priority. You’ll be treated to some new designs this from me for sure this year but be assured they will look good in 2025, 35, 45 and beyond!
